Why should you submit a proposal?
General Criteria
Submit ideas and active projects for potential commercialization to improve care for critically ill or injured patients. There are no restrictions on stage of development.
Pitch Proposal Details
Topics: Innovations that align with the following topic areas of interest will be considered:
Format: The top three pitches will be selected to present a live five-minute pitch during the course to attendees and a panel of judges. The judges will then vote to determine which finalist will receive the award.
Benefits: Selected pitch submitters will showcase their ideas to a diverse audience of industry leaders, clinicians, and investors, fostering collaborations and support for further development. The winning pitch will receive $5,000.
Selection Criteria
Relevance to critical care innovation and MTEC topic area of interest that impact patient outcomes, novelty of the idea, and feasibility.
Submission Requirements
You must register to attend the event to be selected to present your pitch. You do not need to be an SCCM member to submit. Address the following areas in your proposal:
The Critical Care Innovation Incubator offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to support innovation in critical care and position your company or brand as a leader in the field.
Selected pitch submitters will showcase their ideas to a diverse audience of industry leaders, clinicians, and investors, fostering collaborations and support for further development. The winning pitch will receive $10,000.
Accepted posters will be featured prominently, providing presenters with visibility among attendees, potential collaborators, and investors interested in advancing critical care innovations. Posters will be voted on by attendees and a judging panel. The awards for posters are as follows:
The patient safety poster award is sponsored by the Patient Safety Technology Challenge.
About the Patient Safety Technology Challenge The Patient Safety Technology Challenge is an initiative administered by the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative and funded by the Jewish Healthcare Foundation and designed to fuel the engagement of students and innovators in creating solutions and envisioning transformational approaches to reduce preventable harm from medical errors. The initiative will inject patient safety awards and prizes into existing local, regional, and national competitions and produce a documentary to help increase awareness of the patient safety crisis and to support budding tech-enabled patient safety solutions. Guided by national partners experienced in safety technology and advanced healthcare analytics, the Challenge funds awards to organizers of existing events, from hackathons to start-up weekends.
