The course includes:

  • 1 hour live online case-based discussion with audience participation

This interactive course offers a comprehensive review of standardized nutritional care in the ICU, guided by the latest American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and European Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition guidelines. Through case studies and clinical scenarios, clinicians will gain practical strategies for diagnosing malnutrition, managing micronutrient deficiencies, and optimizing parenteral nutrition. Designed to unify care teams with a shared understanding of nutrition support, this deep dive empowers clinicians to deliver consistent, evidence-based care for critically ill patients with complex needs—from trauma and cancer to sepsis.

  • Exploring Nutritional Care Further: The Role of Micronutrients, Probiotics and the Latest Evidence Behind Supplementation
  • Nutritional Care in the Special Population

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Define a common language in planning nutritional care for their patients through the introduction of basic nutritional concepts, feeding strategies, and nutritional screening
  • Explain when and how to use parenteral nutrition based on the latest guidelines
  • Recognize and diagnose micronutrient deficiencies in critical illness and the best approaches for treatment 
  • Plan nutrition support in special patient populations including those with cancer, traumatic injuries, immunosuppression, and sepsis
