Thomas, MD, about the article, “Pediatric Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome: Consensus Recommendations From the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury Consensus Conference,” published in the June 2015 issue of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Thomas is a Professor of Pediatrics and Public Health Sciences at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. In this article, The Pediatric Acute Lung Injury Consensus Conference (PALICC) Group discusses their final recommendations for PICU patients with evidence of acute lung injury or acute respiratory distress syndrome.
