Margaret Parker, MD, MCCM, speaks with Guillaume Emeriaud, MD, PhD, about the article, “Respiratory Dysfunction Associated With Red Blood Cell Transfusion in Critically Ill Children: A Prospective Cohort Study” published in the May 2015 issue of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Emeriaud works as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CHU Sainte-Justine Hospital in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In this article, Dr. Emeriaud and coauthors discuss results from their observational study, which examined the incidence and risk factors of respiratory dysfunction in pediatric patients after red blood cell transfusion.
