Dr. Prough completed his undergraduate studies at Lafayette College, medical school at Penn State University College of Medicine, residency at the National Naval Medical Center, and fellowship training in critical care at the National Naval Medical Center and cardiac anesthesiology at University of Alabama, Birmingham. Dr. Prough has served on the Council of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and is a scientific editor for Critical Care Medicine. He was cochair of SCCM’s 1993 Annual Congress. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Investigator Award from the American College of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Prough’s research interests include noninvasive monitoring, traumatic brain injury, cerebral blood flow and metabolism, and fluid therapy.

Dr. Mack received her bachelor of science and medical degrees from the University of South Carolina. She completed her residency at University of South Carolina Palmetto Health and her fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She also completed a master of science degree with a focus on epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Cincinnati. She is chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Critical Care and past chair of SCCM’s Current Concepts in Pediatric Critical Care course.
Kyle Enfield, MD, is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Kyle Enfield, MD, is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma. He received his joint medical and masters degrees in epidemiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and went on to complete his residency and fellowship at the University of Virginia. Dr. Enfield has served in a number of roles at the University of Virginia and currently serves as the associate chief medical officer for critical care and the vice-chair for patient safety and quality improvement for the Department of Medicine. Dr. Enfield’s clinical interests are in critical care medicine, post-ICU care, and disaster preparedness. His academic interests are the epidemiology and prevention of healthcare-associated conditions, including multidrug-resistant organisms acquisition and healthcare-associated infections.
Ludwig Lin, MD, is an intensivist and anesthesiologist at Sutter Hospitals in the bay area of Northern California and is a consulting professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he teaches a seminar on the psychosocial and economic ramifications of critical illness.

Dr. Lin did his medical training, anesthesia residency and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. He has served as faculty at both Stanford University as well as the University of California San Francisco, where he was a Professor and the Medical Director of Critical Care at San Francisco General Hospital.
His academic interests include patient/family communication as well as education. Being a SCCM podcast host reminds Dr. Lin of his undergraduate days as a news broadcaster for his college radio station, KZSU.
Diane C. McLaughlin, DNP, AGACNP-BC, CCRN, is a neurocritical care nurse practitioner at University of Florida Health Jacksonville. She is active within SCCM, serving on both the APP Resource and Ultrasound committees, and is a social media ambassador for SCCM.
Diane C. McLaughlin, DNP, AGACNP-BC, CCRN, is a neurocritical care nurse practitioner at University of Florida Health Jacksonville. She has worked in critical care for almost 20 years. She has taught in the acute care nurse practitioner program at Case Western Reserve University, acted as a clinical preceptor for University of Florida and Ohio State University master of science in nursing students and is an assistant professor of neurology at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. She published over 25 peer-reviewed articles between 2017 and 2021, authored multiple chapters in textbooks and nurse practitioner board review books, and was sole author of Fast Facts About Neurocritical Care: A Quick Reference for the Advanced Practice Provider. Dr. McLaughlin is chair of SCCM’s APP Resource Committee. She is a member of the SCCM Ultrasound Committee, as well as faculty for the ultrasound course. She is active in national organizations such as the Neurocritical Care Society, where she serves on both the Guidelines Committee and APP Leadership.
Marilyn N. Bulloch, PharmD, BCPS, FCCM, is an associate clinical professor and director of strategic operations at Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy. She is also an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA, and the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine.
Marilyn N. Bulloch, PharmD, BCPS, FCCM, provides clinical pharmacy services at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA, in collaboration with the University Medical Center inpatient medicine rounding service and the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine. Dr. Bulloch is an associate clinical professor at Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy and holds adjunct faculty appointments as an associate professor at University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine and University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences. She provides didactic and experiential education to pharmacy and medicine trainees. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Bulloch serves as the director of strategic operations for the pharmacy school. She completed her pharmacy practice residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, and her critical care pharmacy residency at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia. Dr. Bulloch completed the Faculty Scholars Program through the University of Alabama Birmingham Geriatric Education Center. She serves on committees and in leadership positions for many local, state, and national pharmacy and interdisciplinary medical organizations. She has received multiple Presidential Citations from the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the 2014 Cardinal Health Generation Rx Champions Award, the 2020 Alabama Pharmacy Faculty Member of the Year award, the Harrison School of Pharmacy Preceptor of Excellence Award (twice), and the Hargreaves Faculty Mentor award.

She also serves as adjunct faculty at University of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science in their nurse practitioner program.
Samantha Gambles Farr, MSN, AG-ACNP, FNP-C, RNFA, is a board-certified nurse practitioner whose nursing career has ranged over 20 years. Her specialties include surgical, cardiothoracic, neurocritical, and trauma critical care. She currently works as a surgical intensive care/trauma nurse practitioner at University of California San Diego Health in the Department of Trauma, Burns, Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery. In addition to working in various ICUs, Ms. Gambles Farr is a registered nurse first assistant and retains certification to assist surgeons in the operating room. She also serves as adjunct faculty at the University of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing. Ms. Gambles Farr is heavily involved in SCCM sections, committees, task forces, and review of abstract submissions. She has received the SCCM Presidential Citation and served as the Nursing Section member-at-large. She has been featured as a subject matter expert for SCCM Critical Care Congress sessions for several years. Her session at SCCM’s 2021 Congress was selected for inclusion in the Best of SCCM Congress Hosted Program. She is also involved in SCCM’s Southern California Chapter and was previously its social media chairperson. She is the immediate past president of the San Diego Black Nurses Association and was the 2018 National Black Nurses Association Advance Practice Nurse of the Year. A consummate servant-leader, she also has served as health policy chair of the North County San Diego NAACP Chapter, past president of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners San Diego North County Chapter, American Nursing Association\California Racism in Nursing and Healthcare Taskforce and countless other roles in various professional organizations. She serves as chairperson of the Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee of the California Board of Registered Nursing. Ms. Gambles Farr is focusing her energy on her continued professional development by obtaining her palliative care certification, returning to school for her doctorate degree, and continuing to publish peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters.

Maureen A. Madden, DNP, RN, CPNP-AC, CCRN, FCCM, is a professor of pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a nurse practitioner in pediatric critical care at Bristol Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA. Dr. Madden has influenced the preparation of interprofessional teams and promoted standards that improved health outcomes for critically ill and injured children. She has written multiple publications and book chapters on topics in pediatric critical care and served as an invited speaker at many national and international conferences. Dr. Madden is involved in many SCCM activities and currently serves on the American College of Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) Board of Regents. Because of her expertise, she was invited to be an editor for the textbook Pediatric Acute Care, 2nd edition, to participate in the development of interprofessional practice guidelines for the ACCM, and to be a leader for practice and education on the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification Board. She is a department editor and editorial board member for the Journal of Pediatric Health Care. Dr. Madden received her bachelor of science in nursing from Columbia University, master of science in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and doctor of nursing practice from Rutgers University.
