ICU Liberation Simulation Conference

September 10-11, 2019
Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Nashville, Tennessee, USA

The Society of Critical Care Medicine is partnering with Vanderbilt University Medical Center to offer a one and a half day didactic and simulation conference that will review implementations strategies and discuss approaches to enable a more effective and lasting application of the new pain, agitation/sedation, delirium, immobility, and sleep disruption (PADIS) guidelines by utilizing the multiprofessional team.

Participants will:
  • Review the PADIS guidelines and the ABCDEF Bundle
  • Learn strategies for implementation and management of the PADIS guidelines and ABCDEF Bundle in the intensive care unit (ICU)
  • Gain significant hands-on experience by applying strategies during patient scenario simulations
  • Earn continuing medical education credit hours (available to physicians, nurses, and pharmacists)

Internationally recognized faculty will present lectures on patient management strategies and engage participants in clinical scenarios through small-group simulation labs. Hospitals are encouraged to send a team of two or more participants who will then be able to implement these strategies within their hospital’s ICU after the conference.
