Point of Care (PoC) Refresher Training Discuss steps for prone positioning which can be used to improve oxygenation in critically ill patients who require mechanical ventilation for management of hypoxemic respiratory failure.
Clinicians demonstrating the transition to prone ventilation are not wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
As the transition to prone ventilation requires disconnection of the patient from a mechanical ventilator, this must be considered an aerosol-generating procedure which requires full PPE and a respirator mask (N95 or equivalent) to safely perform this task.
