SCCM Monitors Hurricane Florence and Typhoon Mangkhut

9/13/2018
In response to latest hurricane season developments, the Society shared disaster-related resources with the affected areas and is accepting donations in preparation of supporting relief efforts.

The Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) is monitoring Hurricane Florence and Typhoon Mangkhut. SCCM activated its Emergency Response Plan this week and sent information to members in the affected areas with a note of support and access to SCCM resources, including the Fundamental Disaster Management materials.

In response to the latest hurricane season developments, the Society is accepting donations in preparation of supporting relief efforts. In a disaster, SCCM works with members in the affected region to provide items such as medical supplies/equipment, adult/baby/child supplies, non-perishable food items, training/response materials, and other items of greatest need. Donations are tax deductible and can be made through SCCM's secure website. To make a donation today, please visit the Hurricane Relief Donations page.

Please know you can reach SCCM for support when a disaster strikes by sending an email to emergency@sccm.org.
