ABSTRACT-BASED AWARDS-NEW CRITERIA!
Your abstract, upon acceptance, may be considered for any of the following awards. Please note: abstracts that are selected for any of the following will be awarded to a single individual on behalf of the abstract. The contact author will be notificed of abstracts receiving the award, to provide the appropriate name to receive the award.

The Following Awards must be applied for as stated below:
The In-Training Award
Applicants must submit a letter stating the dates of their fellowship/training and the name of the fellowship/training director. Applicant must be in a critical care training program or have ended training not more than one (1) year prior to the Congress.
AWARD AMOUNT: $1,500 Cash award, personalized plaque and one year complimentary Associate Membership in the Society, if not already a member.
Please submit a letter that includes your name, abstract ID, the award you are applying, your detailed status on your institution letterhead and signed by your Director by September 1, 2009 to E-mail: congress@sccm.org or Fax: 1-847-493-6497
The Young Investigator Award
Applicant must have completed a training program at least 18 months but not more than six (6) years prior to the Congress.
AWARD AMOUNT: $1,500 Cash award, personalized plaque and one year complimentary Associate Membership in the Society, if not already a member.

Annual Scientific Awards
Recognizes the top 10 abstracts submitted based on outstanding research at the SCCM Congress. SCCM membership is not required for eligibility. Award of $750 for each receipient.
Specialty Awards
These awards are given to the top scoring abstract in each of the following categories. Winners will receive complimentary registration to the 2010 Congress.

The top 5 Citations will receive Future Complimentary registration at the 2011 Critical Care Congress. Research Citations will be selected from the top 20 percent of accepted Congress abstracts.
