Judith Jacobi, PharmD, BCPS, FCCM


Dr. Jacobi has been a member of SCCM since 1985 and was a founding member of the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Section in 1989.  She trained as a pharmacist at Purdue University and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota and was one of the first critical care pharmacy residents trained at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Jacobi was a member of Council since 1999 in the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Designated Seat.  In addition, she served that section as Vice-chair and Chair.  She served two years as SCCM Treasurer and has been active on various SCCM committees including finance, nominations, continuing education, strategic planning and research.   Dr. Jacobi became a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine in 1992 and served on a variety of committees including the 2002 Clinical Practice Guideline for the Sustained Use of Sedatives and Analgesics, the 1998 Practice Parameters for Evaluating New Fever in Critically Ill Adult Patients, and is currently Chair of the task force on Guidelines for Glycemic Control.

Dr. Jacobi is part of the multi-professional ICU team as a Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist for the adult critical care and neurocritical care units at Methodist Hospital, a division of Clarian Health Partners in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. In that role she provides care to a variety of critically ill patients in additional to participating in multi-professional education and quality improvement.  She is Program Director of a Critical Care Pharmacy Residency and has trained 16 residents, along with numerous Doctor of Pharmacy students as Affiliate Assistant Faculty for Purdue University and Butler University.
