Your gifts designated for Guidelines and Practice Parameters help the American College of Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) develop essential protocols. Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) contributions have allowed the ACCM to begin work on three new guidelines that will be available in the coming months. The first will be related to GI prophylaxis and the second, in collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics, will be related to pediatric sedation and analgesia.
SCCM contributions also allowed the ACCM to complete the Guidelines for the Provision and Assessment of Nutrition Support Therapy in the Adult Critically Ill Patient, which was published in the May 2009 issue of Critical Care Medicine.
The ACCM has a “wish list” of projects that are waiting for funding. You and your patients could benefit from these essential protocols in the near future.
